In 2018, I began painting portraits of medications—and this is the first of those portraits. This is a portrait of my inhaler. I love it forever because it has saved my life a trillion times. I am comforted by the fact that its particular blueness and shape and feel has not changed since I got my first one in 1981. Also, fun fact: I can kind of thank my asthma for helping me start to paint and draw as a kid. I started drawing and painting everything I was (and am) allergic to (anything with fur or feathers; most flowers, grasses and trees, and other normal stuff) while doing my nebulizer treatments 4x/daily when I was young. I also drew dinosaurs then, although I do not think I would be allergic to most of them.

Each print is 8.5” w and 11”h, exists in a limited edition of 50, and each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, which is also signed by the artist. Prints will be shipped safely via UPS in a cellophane sleeve, and are not framed. The paper used is smooth, with a 44 lb. basis weight and 9 ml thickness.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this print will go to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
