LEXAPRO PORTRAIT I SIGNED AND NUMBERED ARCHIVAL GICLEE PRINT

25.00

I began painting portraits of medications in 2018. This is the second of those portraits. LET US CELEBRATE AND BE THANKFUL FOR ASS-SAVING MEDICATIONS! Any stigma or shame around any illness and/or its treatment is so dumb and bunk. Here, standing nicely on a nice rug, is a bottle of Lexapro. It is used as part of a treatment plan for depression and anxiety, and I credit it for straight-up saving my bacon in 2007/08 when I was in the grips of the most terrible depressive bout I have ever experienced (or hopefully ever will). Like, I lost my sense of taste (a thing that happens!) and couldn't get out of bed or function. Lexapro was like a shoehorn for me, if I was the foot and depression was the shoe and that's not a great metaphor, but you know what I mean. I haven't needed to utilize it since 2011, as I've been major depression-free, thankfully, but/and I will always celebrate it and be super thankful that it worked. We all go through crap sometimes! We all have health challenges sometimes! Let us all celebrate the tools we have! And each other!
